As we continue to grow, we're seeking a safe and efficient crane operator to help us successfully build new projects.

Reports To: Crew Foreman

Schedule: Typically, Mon - Fri 7:00a - 6:00p. Varies based on project. Some weekend and night work required.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Operate various hydro RT (swing) and Truck (fixed) mounted cranes.
  • Perform equipment inspections.
  • evaluate hoisting criteria and facilitate the necessary preparation.
  • Safely efficiently operate assigned crane.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Safety and efficiently operate various required machinery including but not limited to cranes.
  • Studies project specifications with project superintendent to plan procedures for necessary operations.
  • Coordinates activities with supervisors and hoisting crew daily.
  • Operates assigned crane in various location and work environments, including high density and low clearance as needed.
  • Inspects work site to determine sequencing and methods of operation and survey for potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Responsible for crew safety.
  • Comply with company policies.
  • Establish safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards and company safety program.
  • Comply with federal, state and company environmental policies.
  • Observe assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions.
  • Operates machinery to verify repair.
  • Inspects work to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  • Uses instruments such as tape measures, lasers, grade rods, eye levels and transit levels ensure proper working limits are complied with.
  • Travel to and from job site.

COMPETITIVE PAY-based on qualifications and experience: $26-$38/HOUR

Jalisco generously pays 100% of the health and dental premiums for all full-time employees and their dependents.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of two years operating hydro RT cranes on highway / civil projects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ABILITIES

  • Position requires employee to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, handle objects, reach outward, and reach above head and shoulders, climb, descend, squat, kneel, bend, and occasionally lift carry/push/pull/move/drag on flat ground or steep slopes up to 75 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is outdoors. Working conditions range from frigid to hot temperatures, high winds, flying dust, slipping hazards and conditions and frequently exposed to loud noise from heavy equipment and machinery.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work.
  • Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy objects (75+ pounds), walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Nationally recognized crane operator certification for the type of crane being operated.
  • Ability to demonstrate safe, competent and efficient operation of the crane.
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to and at all times during employment.
  • Must be able to comply and maintain certification and training qualifications requirements.
  • Must possess or acquire and maintain health qualification certification.
